Our 214-bed medical center includes a 60-bed skilled nursing/rehabilitation institute and certified home care agency. Peconic Bay Medical Center is home to the Hamptons Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Institute™, a premiere orthopedic program specializing in joint replacement, spine surgery, hand surgery, sports medicine and general orthopedics. Our new Emergency Department offers 17 individual rooms with an additional 10 prompt care rooms for treatment of less serious injuries or conditions. The department is staffed and managed by trauma-trained emergency medicine specialists from Stony Brook University Hospital. These doctors are not only expert at treating patients, they teach tomorrow’s physicians and lead research projects that keep them on the forefront of their specialty. This model of care has been made possible through a unique partnership between Peconic Bay Medical Center and Stony Brook University Hospital in which together, we will bring the highest levels of medical care to our communities. In addition, Peconic Bay Medical Center’s recent modernization and expansion project provided for renovation to the medical/surgical patient rooms. Within the new 40,000-square-foot home of the Center for Advanced Surgical Services set to open in 2009 will be six operating suites designed to the exacting standards required by today’s advanced procedures. It also incorporates advanced monitoring and surgical integration systems, a 12-bed post-anesthesia unit, a new main lobby, gift shop and health resource center. Proving its ability to provide the highest level of care at an accelerated pace when time matters the most, Peconic Bay Medical Center has earned the New York State Health Department’s Stroke Center Designation. It is also recognized as a Center of Excellence by the American College of Bariatric Surgeons. |
