Recreational, Social and Religious Activities
Patients' social, spiritual and emotional needs, as well as their medical needs, are met at the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center by a staff that treats all patients with dignity and respect.
Three
staff recreation therapists direct recreational activities, which are
designed to appeal a variety of interests. Scheduled seven days a week,
activities include concerts, singalongs, crafts, parties, holiday get-togethers,
pet therapy, ice cream socials, games such as bingo, gardening, yoga,
and trips to community theaters and restaurants.
Each summer the Hamptons Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Institute, a PBMC program, hosts a Joint Replacement Alumni Barbecue giving former patients, their surgeons and physical therapy staff the opportunity to say hello. The Hamptons Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Institute offers full joint repair and replacement for knees and hips.
Religious services representing many denominations are available and pastoral visits can be arranged.
Meals, which are planned by an on-site registered dietitian, are served in a large, pleasant dining room, with special menus for special occasions. Resident and family councils allow a forum in which residents may express their views and concerns.
