Bay Medical Center is a 182-bed not-for-profit medical center located in Riverhead, the gateway to the north and south forks on the East End of Long Island, New York.
Peconic Bay, a five-star rated hospital by Health Grades for General Surgery, offers patients the latest medical technology and expertise unsurpassed by any community hospital in Suffolk County. Ranked by Health Grades in the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for general surgery, Peconic Bay recently acquired the daVinci Surgical Robot and established one of the few surgical robotics programs on Long Island and only the second such program in Suffolk County.
Peconic Bay Medical Center in 2009 opened the Kanas Center for Advanced Surgery, featuring five 650-square foot, state-of-the-art operating suites in a brand-new, 21,000-square-foot surgical pavilion.
Peconic Bay has its own 60-bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Physical

Center, comprehensive laboratory and radiological facilities serving both inpatients and outpatients, and Peconic Bay HomeHealth Services,
a certified home health agency. In 2009 Peconic Bay established the Pegasus House Palliative Care Center to provide pain management, comfort care and end-of-life care, focusing on the special needs of patients and their families.
Located in Riverhead, New York, the Medical Center serves the nearly 120,000 residents
of one of the fastest growing regions in New York State, encompassing a service area that stretches from Wading River to Mattituck on the
North Fork and from Moriches to Hampton Bays on the South Fork. Founded in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, the Medical Center has grown to keep pace with the growth of the burgeoning East End region. With 1,000 employees and a 200-member medical staff, Peconic Bay Medical Center provides
comprehensive healthcare services on the East End.
Each year Peconic Bay Medical Center discharges nearly 6,000 adult,
pediatric and newborn patients and the MDJ Goodale Emergency Center treats some 30,000 patients.
Peconic Bay Home Health Services provides nursing assistance with approximately
20,000 home visits each year. Peconic Bay's surgeons keep the operating rooms
busy with more than 3,700 surgeries, both inpatient and outpatient and 3,000
endoscopies. The Maternity Unit brings about 450 new babies into the
world and the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center provides care
for about 650 people annually.
